Moncreiffe (MacLachlan) Clan Tartan WR963
|

|
| Sir Iain Moncreiffe of that Ilk, acquired the MacLachlan
old sett for the clan in 1974. As a result of a long
association with Clan Murray, the Moncreiffes
traditionally wore the Atholl tartan. Sir Iain... arranged
that Madam MacLachlan of MacLachlan assign to him this
simple pattern of red and green which was no longer
favoured by Clan MacLachlan but was in Wilsons of
Bannockburns pattern book 1790. Sir Iain felt the sett was
appropriate to the long history of the clan and the colours
represented the colour of his arms.
It has also be called Robin Hood.
