| Wilson's pattern book 4 (c.1847) calls this sett 'New
MacNeil'. It is interesting to note the inclusion of red
which appears in the Highland Society of London sample
(c.1816) under the name MacNeil of Colonsay. The
samples in D. W. Stewarts book of 1893 were specially
woven in silk.
